3. Tumble accidents by industry

Fig. 1 illustrates the proportion of death and injury in 2009 by type of accident.

Looked at by industry, tumble accidents occur with the most frequency, in descending order, in manufacturing, commerce, hospitality, and entertainment.

If we look at trends in the rate of tumbles by industry, with the exception of construction, these accidents are on the rise in the manufacturing, commerce, hospitality, and entertainment industries.
